Last Friday we took WaveVR to Merged Futures 8, Digital Northants’ annual innovation showcase at the University of Northampton. People came over to the stand all day to try it, and a smaller group joined our talk in the afternoon.
A surprise in a noisy room
WaveVR is usually shown in a quiet setting: a school room, a clinic, somewhere people can settle. A trade-show floor is the opposite. Other demos, conversation, footfall, daylight pouring in. We weren’t sure how the calming side of the experience would hold up.
The numbers came back better than we’d guessed.

What they said
21 people filled in the short questionnaire on the way out.
- 75% felt more calm afterwards
- 86% liked the session
- 90% would do it again
- 90% would recommend it to someone else
The calmness number is the one that stood out for us. We knew the piece works in a quiet room. That three-quarters of people still felt calmer in the middle of a showcase floor is new.

In their own words
“It was amazing! Love it!!”
“Very relaxing, felt like meditation.”
“The experience could support staff and students in my university.”
“Great experience, interesting. I will definitely recommend this to my child’s school.”
“I really enjoyed the bubbles, colours, narration, and hand movement.”
