WaveVR
WaveVR is a project I lead that helps people manage stress, regulate emotions and build resilience through an immersive virtual reality experience.
What WaveVR does
Grounded in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), WaveVR guides users through mindfulness, emotional regulation and distress tolerance exercises in a calming virtual environment. The aim is prevention: building resilience before things get hard, so people stay well before crisis rather than needing help after it.
It is designed for schools, workplaces, NHS services and wellbeing programmes.
Results so far
WaveVR has been piloted in schools and NHS services, with encouraging early evidence:
- 86% of participants felt better after a session
- 95% enjoyed the VR experience
- +33% improvement in focus
- +27% improvement in mood
You can read more in my posts on the school pilot results, FutureFest 2026, and what attendees told us at Merged Futures 8.
